The Proposal

Let’s do this in photoblogging style:

Date: 31st Dec 2008

Venue: Hotel Rendezvous

With: Beng’s family on a business Dinner & Dance (PRC &  bangladesh workers also attended)

8.00pm: unsuspecting girlfriend at the start of the dinner

10.45pm: Beng said stomachache. Disappeared to a 20-min “toilet break”.

11.45pm: Beng’s sis asked me to accompany her down to the carpark to place our lucky draw prizes in our car. Follows unsuspectingly.

11.46pm: Car was covered with a sun reflector on windscreen. Approaches suspiciously – My Suspicion Gauge rang off at level 5. Beng’s sis prompted me to check it out. My Suspicion Gauge went off like a siren.

11.47pm: *DUMBFOUNDED*

Product of a 20-min “toilet break”

11.50pm: Wondering where The Man is. Still no sign. we headed up to the ballroom.

11.55pm: There he is outside the ballroom armed with:

The Compulsory Duo: The Flowers & The Ring (T.F.T.R.)

11.57pm: Beng went down on 1 knee. Gave me the flowers. Asked me “so how?” I remained dumbfounded and shocked. My knees were jelly.

11.58pm:  Beng stuffed ring into my left ring finger. Asked again, “Will u marry me??” Me: “…Yah.” Beng: “What’s ‘yah’??” Me: “YAH LAH!!!”

*laughters all around*

*hugs & kisses flying all around*

11.59pm: “5…4….3……”

Me: “!! LET’S GO BACK IN!!”

“..2….1!!!!”

12.01am: Back inside ballroom. Elated faces. Congratulations flying all around. MC got us to go up the stage. :S!

12.05pm: Popped a champagne. Machiam actual wedding day.

More congratulatory wishes.

1am: Left for home. Left the windscreen as it is and drove back as it is. Met some students who crossed the traffic light right infront of us, saw our “designed” windscreen and got cheers & screams from them!

An unforgettable night, definitely. )
